₱4.1-B SUBIC TRANSPORT HUB TO BOOST JOBS, ECONOMIC GROWTH

A massive ₱4.135-billion multi-modal logistics and transport hub will soon rise in the Subic Bay Freeport Zone, a move expected to enhance economic activity and create hundreds of new jobs.

The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) and Subic Bay Freeport Grain Terminal Services, Inc. sealed the agreement through the signing of lease contracts and related amendments.

According to SBMA Senior Deputy Administrator for Business and Investment Renato Lee III, the development will cover parts of San Bernardino Road in the Subic Port District as well as areas within the Subic Bay International Airport.

“This marks a significant milestone in modernizing Subic’s air and seaport facilities, increasing our port’s competitiveness and revenue-generating capacity,” Lee said.

The future hub will feature facilities such as grain storage, a petroleum tank farm, dry and cold storage warehouses, an airport logistics terminal, a hospitality center for cruise ship tourists, and a new wharf capable of docking ultra-large vessels.

Once operational, the project is expected to create around 798 jobs and reinforce Subic’s position as a vital logistics and tourism hub in Central Luzon.
