The city government, led by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr., will conduct fumigation in 55 public schools starting May 19, 2025, to help protect students and teachers from dengue as part of this year’s Brigada Eskwela preparations.

The anti-dengue task force, composed of personnel from the City Barangay Outreach, has been tasked to carry out the fogging operations. Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel and Angeles City Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office (ACEDIPO) Chief Irish Bonus-Llego will supervise the activities.

“We need to ensure that our students and teachers are safe from dengue before classes begin,” Mayor Lazatin said.
The annual school fumigation began in 2019 as part of Mayor Lazatin’s health and safety initiatives in public schools.

Department of Education Angeles City Schools Division Superintendent Engr. Edgard Domingo expressed his appreciation to the city government for its continued support of learner welfare.
“We extend our gratitude to Mayor Lazatin for prioritizing the safety and well-being of our students,” Domingo said.
Earlier this year, Mayor Lazatin also led a citywide disinfection campaign in both public and private schools to help curb the spread of Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (HFMD), which resulted in a significant drop in reported cases.
