Cebu Pacific celebrates 20 Years in Hong Kong with tribute to OFWs

Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB), the Philippines’ leading airline, marked two decades of service in Hong Kong by honoring the very people who have long been at the heart of its journey — the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs). In a heartfelt celebration, the airline paid tribute to the invaluable role OFWs have played in both CEB’s growth and the nation’s progress.

As a highlight of the celebration, Cebu Pacific presented its first-ever Values Awards for OFWs, recognizing five exceptional individuals who exemplify the airline’s core values: Integrity, Service, Trust, Courage, and the Best of the Filipino Spirit. Traditionally reserved for CEB employees, the Values Awards were, for the first time, extended to members of the public as a way to honor the airline’s most loyal and inspiring customers.

“OFWs have been with us since the very beginning,” shared Candice Iyog, Cebu Pacific’s Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer. “They are not only our most loyal customers but an important part of the Cebu Pacific family. This tribute is a small way of thanking them for the immense role they play in our story and in the country’s continued growth.”

The awards were presented during the, hosted by Philippine Alliance—the largest Filipino community in Hong Kong—on June 15. The event also capped off this year’s Migrant Workers’ Day celebration. Each awardee received a plaque of recognition and a complimentary international roundtrip ticket from Cebu Pacific.

“Being recognized for our efforts gives us a deep sense of pride,” said Dante Berido, Chairman of Philippine Alliance. “It means a lot to be seen, valued, and celebrated—not just as workers, but as people who make a difference.”

Looking ahead, Cebu Pacific continues to strengthen its support for OFWs through various initiatives, including the soon-to-open OFW Processing Center at Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA), and ongoing collaborations with the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and partner NGOs.

The airline has also recently introduced Juan Flight Closer to Home, a recruitment program that offers aviation engineering roles and full relocation support for OFWs who wish to return and rebuild their careers in the Philippines.

With an extensive network of 37 domestic and 26 international destinations across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East, Cebu Pacific remains committed to connecting Filipinos — wherever they are — to home, family, and opportunity.
