Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB), the country’s leading carrier, has successfully renewed its IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certification—affirming its unwavering commitment to the highest global safety standards as it rapidly expands its routes and fleet.
This latest renewal marks a significant milestone: CEB’s first under the more rigorous, data-driven Risk-Based IOSA, a new auditing approach rolled out by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). The airline has maintained a spotless record since earning its initial IOSA registration in 2018.
“The IOSA renewal reflects the strength of our internal safety processes and the culture of excellence we uphold,” said Javier Massot, CEB Chief Operations Officer. “Safety is—and always will be—the heart of our operations.”
Cebu Pacific’s commitment to safety continues to gain international recognition. In June, AirlineRatings.com named it among the World’s Safest Low-Cost Carriers, citing its strong safety record and investment in modern aircraft.
The audit renewal comes amid CEB’s aggressive fleet modernization. In 2024, the airline inked a landmark deal with Airbus for up to 152 A320neo aircraft—the biggest in Philippine aviation history—as it shifts toward an all-NEO fleet that emphasizes fuel efficiency and sustainability.
In tandem with fleet upgrades, CEB is expanding its network to meet surging travel demand. The airline added 28 new routes in 2024 alone and recently launched international flights from Cebu to Ho Chi Minh, Iloilo to Bangkok, and Manila to Sapporo.
By the end of 2025, Cebu Pacific aims to fly 30 million passengers, supported by increased seat capacity and further development of its domestic hubs.
CEB currently operates the widest flight network in the country, connecting 37 domestic and 26 international destinations across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East—all backed by a renewed global seal of safety.
