Central Luzon LGUs lead completion of 2024 SGLG projects

Ten local government units (LGUs) from Central Luzon are the first in the country to complete their 2024 Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund (SGLGIF) projects, solidifying the region’s third consecutive year in the national Top 10.

Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Regional Director Anthony Nuyda praised the feat, calling it proof of how Central Luzon effectively transforms government resources into impactful, community-centered programs. “This accomplishment reflects our ‘Tres The Best’ mindset—transparency, results, and service excellence,” Nuyda said.

The 10 LGUs, part of the 714 nationwide that passed the SGLG assessment, are:

  1. Apalit, Pampanga – street lights installation at the government complex (Phase 2)
  2. Bagac, Bataan – solar street lights in Brgy. Banawang
  3. Santa Maria, Bulacan – solar street lights in Brgy. San Jose Patag
  4. Paombong, Bulacan – procurement of an ultrasound machine
  5. Minalin, Pampanga – solar street light project
  6. San Marcelino, Zambales – mobile patrol vehicle acquisition
  7. Pilar, Bataan – CCTV system for the public market
  8. Moncada, Tarlac – Camangaan West farm-to-market road
  9. San Felipe, Zambales – vermicomposting facility
  10. Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija – solar street lights project

The SGLG program promotes excellence in local governance by rewarding LGUs that meet high standards in accountability, service delivery, and community development. Through the SGLGIF, formerly the Performance Challenge Fund, qualifying LGUs receive grants to fund priority projects that benefit their constituents.
