True to its commitment to bringing healthcare services closer to communities, the Department of Health (DOH), represented by Universal Health Care-Health Services Cluster (UHC-HSC) Area 1 Undersecretary Maria Rosario Singh-Vergeire, together with Central Luzon Center for Health Development (CLCHD) Regional Director Corazon Flores and Assistant Regional Director Lailani Mangulabnan, launched the first ever PuroKalusugan in the country at Purok 1, Barangay Diagyan, Dilasag, Aurora.

PuroKalusugan is the newest primary care program of the Department, which aims to bring healthcare services closer to the communities by bringing them into every purok. Primary care services offered by PuroKalusugan include immunization, oral health, maternal health, tuberculosis control program, nutrition, non-communicable disease prevention and control program, and environmental and sanitation services.

This initiative is a collaboration among the DOH, the provincial government of Aurora, the local government unit of Dilasag, Aurora, and other partner stakeholders. During the launch, partners from the Department of Education (DepEd), the Department of Social Welfare Development (DSWD), indigenous community groups, and the religious sector manifested their commitment to sustain the initiative.
The PuroKalusugan program aligns with one of the Department’s 8-Point Action Agenda, “Bawat Pilipino Ramdam ang Kalusugan”, dahil sa Bagong Pilipinas, Bawat Buhay Mahalaga.
