DOJ, NBI HOLD DIALOGUE AS PROBE INTO CAMP JOHN HAY DEAL DEEPENS

The Department of Justice (DOJ), in coordination with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), held a stakeholder dialogue at Camp John Hay on June 17, 2025, as part of its continuing investigation into alleged irregularities involving the Camp John Hay Development Corporation (CJHDevCo).

The town hall meeting marks a significant step in the DOJ’s fact-finding efforts following mounting complaints of questionable sublease arrangements and possible fraudulent transactions tied to CJHDevCo and its affiliates.

In April 2025, the DOJ formed a special task force—composed of representatives from the DOJ, NBI, and other support agencies—to probe the allegations. The task force is tasked to determine whether laws were violated in dealings with sub-lessees and investors within the Camp John Hay area.

“The Department of Justice takes these concerns seriously,” DOJ Undersecretary Nicholas Felix Ty said. “We are here to listen, gather facts, and take appropriate legal action where warranted. Our priority is to uphold the rule of law and protect those who may have been affected.”

The forum allowed affected sub-lessees and other stakeholders to share firsthand accounts and submit relevant documents to support the investigation. DOJ and NBI officials responded to questions and assured participants that their concerns will be thoroughly reviewed.

The DOJ urged individuals with additional information to reach out through official channels or participate in future dialogues as part of the agency’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and public service.
