The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Central Luzon has called on employers to strengthen their commitment to creating fair, humane, and accident-free workplaces.
In line with the 2025 World Day for Safety and Health at Work and the national Labor Day celebration, DOLE-3 Regional Director Geraldine Panlilio led the ceremonial signing of the “United for Zero Accidents: A Call to Action” pledge on May 1. She stressed that zero workplace accidents must be treated as an urgent priority, not a distant goal.
“To create truly safe workplaces, we must anticipate hazards and act before accidents happen. Prevention must be part of our everyday operations,” Panlilio emphasized.

DOLE continues to collaborate with workers, employers, government agencies, and safety advocates to strengthen occupational safety and health (OSH) standards. In Central Luzon, the agency is closely monitoring high-risk sectors such as construction, heavy manufacturing, pyrotechnics, and transportation to ensure strict compliance with safety regulations.
The department, along with private sector partners, has also pledged to recognize companies and individuals that lead in OSH practices and adapt to evolving workplace risks.
Panlilio announced that DOLE is set to issue a new department order aimed at helping micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) comply with OSH requirements. She also reiterated DOLE’s ongoing efforts to inspect workplaces and ensure employers uphold their obligations, including remitting contributions to the SSS, PhilHealth, PAG-IBIG, and other mandated benefits.
