The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Pampanga 1st District Engineering Office paid tribute to Kapampangan national hero and former Chief Justice Jose Abad Santos through a wreath-laying ceremony held Wednesday at his monument located along the NLEX entry/exit at Jose Abad Santos Avenue.

Leading the commemoration were District Engineer Almer C. Miranda and Assistant District Engineer Alfie G. Lejarde, joined by key personnel from the district office. These included Planning and Design Chief Arlette C. Guzman, Construction Chief Danny P. Canlas, Maintenance Chief Donald M. Sanchez, Procurement Chief Neopolo L. Manaloto Jr., Finance Chief Anna Lorraine C. Tamayo, Quality Assurance Section Chief Mark Carlo G. Franco, Human Resources and Administrative Section Chief Noel G. Canlas, District Information Officer May C. Beltran, and Budget Officer Ma. Liza F. Almario.

The annual tribute reaffirms the agency’s commitment to honoring the legacy of Abad Santos, who is remembered for his patriotism and sacrifice during World War II.
