The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is intensifying consumer protection in Central Luzon through regular price monitoring, collaboration with local government units (LGUs), and the introduction of an online complaints resolution system.
DTI Regional Director Edna Dizon, speaking at the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas event, highlighted ongoing efforts to regulate prices and ensure product quality, especially for basic and prime commodities. The agency works closely with LGUs and consumer organizations to ensure fair pricing and market transparency.

As of 2024, 131 of the region’s 137 LGUs have active Local Price Coordinating Councils (LPCCs), which monitor commodity prices, particularly in public markets. DTI also collaborates with agencies in the agricultural sector to stabilize prices of essentials like rice.
DTI has also resolved 100% of consumer complaints in 2023 and 2024, using the newly launched Philippine Online Dispute Resolution System (PODRS) to improve accessibility and efficiency in handling complaints.
These initiatives reinforce DTI’s commitment to safeguarding consumer welfare in Central Luzon.
