DTI pens ₱2.6M Food Processing Hub for Bulacan farmers

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has officially launched a ₱2.6-million Shared Service Facility (SSF) to boost agri-processing capabilities for local farmers in Barangay Gabihan, San Ildefonso.

Inaugurated on June 17, 2025, the new facility equips the Bausa Integrated Farm and Training Center, Inc. and its farmer-beneficiaries with modern food processing tools, including a vacuum fryer, grinder, dehydrator, vacuum packaging machine, and metal detector. All equipment meets industry food-grade standards.

Funded under DTI’s SSF program, the project addresses key gaps in Bulacan’s agricultural value chain and supports the agency’s clustering strategy to grow rural enterprises.

DTI Region 3 Director Edna Dizon said the facility represents more than upgraded tools—it is a step toward inclusive economic growth. “By investing in shared facilities, we are creating opportunities for farmers to scale up, access bigger markets, and move up the value chain,” she said.

The event was attended by key officials and partners, including representatives from the Provincial Government of Bulacan, the 3rd District Congressional Office, and the local government of San Ildefonso, along with DTI regional and provincial leadership.

A Memorandum and Usufruct Agreement was signed with the Bausa Integrated Farm, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony and facility tour for farmers to familiarize themselves with the equipment.

The SSF initiative is part of DTI’s broader efforts to help MSMEs grow by giving them access to upgraded tools, training, and market opportunities. The facility is expected to generate jobs, increase farm incomes, and strengthen Bulacan’s position in the agri-processing industry.
