In celebration of Filipino Food Month and the 3rd Manyaman Festival, the Provincial Government of Pampanga highlighted the vital role of local farmers by equipping them with knowledge to improve their harvests during the Farmers’ Congress held Tuesday, April 29, at the Benigno S. Aquino Hall, Capitol Compound.

Around 70 farmers participated in the event titled “Ortelanu at ing Asikan: A Farmers’ Congress”, organized by the Arts, Culture, and Tourism Office of Pampanga (ACTOP) in partnership with the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA).

Engr. June Joven discussed the importance of farm mechanization, while Dr. Lowell Rebillaco presented programs on seed distribution and fertilizer discount vouchers.

The congress also served as a venue to inform Kapampangan farmers about the various forms of assistance available to them from the government.
