Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. on Wednesday praised the Angeles City Police Office (ACPO) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 3 for their successful anti-drug operation that led to the seizure of nearly 100 kilos of suspected shabu worth ₱686 million.
The major drug bust took place in Barangay Sto. Domingo on May 14, 2025, with the ACPO, led by PCol. Joselito Villarosa, and PDEA-3, under Regional Director Jigger Montallana, spearheading the operation.
Mayor Lazatin personally visited the site to witness the presentation of the arrested drug courier and the massive cache of illegal drugs.

“I commend our local police and PDEA for this decisive blow against the illegal drug trade,” Mayor Lazatin said. “This is proof that Angeles City will never be a haven for drug dealers. We are taking a firm stand to keep every barangay safe, drug-free, and protected.”
The mayor reaffirmed the city’s commitment to a drug-cleared community, emphasizing that this operation is in line with his administration’s eight-point agenda to eliminate illegal drugs in Angeles City.
