MCG BOWS OUT, CALLS FOR SUPPORT FOR NEW MABALACAT LEADERSHIP
Outgoing Mayor Crisostomo Garbo called on city government employees to rally behind the incoming administration during his farewell message at the weekly flag-raising ceremony held outside City Hall on Monday, June 2.
Appearing in public for the first time since the 2025 elections, Garbo expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to serve Mabalacat for more than three decades. He confirmed his decision to retire from politics, citing a desire to spend more time with family.

โI am very thankful to the Lord for giving me the opportunity to serve Mabalacat for the past 33 years,โ said Garbo. โAfter two weeks of reflection, I believe it is time for me to close the curtain on my political career and dedicate more time to my family.โ
The outgoing mayor urged city employees to give their full support to Mayor-elect Gerald Guttrie Aquino, Vice Mayor-elect Marcos Castro Jr., and the newly elected city council. He stressed the importance of unity and cooperation in achieving progress under new leadership.
โLet us pray for our new leaders and support them wholeheartedly for the greater good of Mabalacat,โ Garbo said. โIt is now their time to serve our constituents. We should stop politicking and start uniting for the development of our beloved city.โ
Garbo also acknowledged the contributions of Councilors Noel Castro and Timmy Dee, as well as incumbent Councilors Rox Peรฑa, Carlo Dizon, Doc Cocoy Tiglao, and Jerry Magsino, who gave parting messages to the local government workforce.
As he concluded his remarks, Garbo reminded the crowd that he had done his part for the city, and it was now time for the next generation of leaders to take the helm.
โSupport and respect are vital as we move forward,โ he said.
