Mabalacat City sparks joy with launch of Christmas Village 2023

Mabalacat City Mayor Cris Garbo led the launch of the much-anticipated ‘Magarbong Crismas’ Xmas Village 2023 in Barangay Mabiga on Thursday evening. 

The dazzling spectacle of lights and a breathtaking fireworks display came to life when Mayor Garbo pressed the ‘on’ button.

As dusk fell, the countdown began and the atmosphere was filled with anticipation and excitement. When Mayor Garbo pushed the button, the entire Christmas village lit up simultaneously with the spectacular fireworks display, creating an enchanting sight that left thousands of Mabalaquenians spellbound.

In attendance were Vice Mayor Gerald Guttrie Aquino, councilors Cherry Manalo, Liza Pineda, Rox Peña, Noel Castro, Jerry Magsino, Carlo Dizon, Doc Cocoy Tiglao, barangay chairpersons, kagawads, Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) chairpersons and their members, the uniformed men of the Mabalacat Police, Local Government Unit (LGU) employees, and a massive crowd of Mabalaquenians.

The Christmas village, a key highlight of the Pampanga’s festive calendar, will remain open to the public until just before the New Year. It features an array of attractions, including beautifully decorated Christmas trees, stunning light installations, live performances, and a variety of local food stalls and gift shops. 

Mayor Cris Garbo delivered an inspiring message of hope, love, sharing, and faith in God for the Yuletide season. “This Christmas village is not just about lights and decorations,” he said. “It’s a symbol of our unity, our resilience, and our shared hope for a better future. Let’s celebrate this season with love, sharing, and faith in God,” MCG said.

There was a unanimous sense of awe and appreciation among the attendees. The event was not just a visual feast but also a testament to the city’s spirit of unity and the season’s joy. 

The ‘Magarbong Crismas’ Xmas Village 2023 is expected to attract thousands of visitors from Mabalacat and beyond, making it a significant event for local tourism and commerce. It showcases the city’s commitment to preserving and promoting its cultural heritage while providing a platform for local businesses to thrive during the holiday season.
