Magalang begins creek cleanup ahead of rainy season

As the rainy season begins, the local government of Magalang has launched a series of cleanup efforts targeting creeks and waterways to help prevent flooding in low-lying areas.

Over the recent long weekend, a creek declogging operation was conducted near Magalang Elementary School in Barangay San Nicolas 1. The initiative was led by the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), in coordination with barangay officials and committed barangay liaisons.

Magalang Mayor Malu Lacson emphasized the importance of proactive environmental efforts in minimizing the impact of seasonal rains.

The local government is encouraging residents to take part in maintaining the cleanliness of their surroundings and to support the ongoing anti-flooding measures.
