New ₱360-M dorm for NAS Student-Athletes to rise in New Clark City

A new five-story dormitory for student-athletes of the National Academy of Sports (NAS) will soon rise in New Clark City, as the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) and the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) move forward with a ₱360-million investment in world-class sports education.

Unveiled during NAS’s fifth founding anniversary on June 18, 2025, the dormitory will accommodate up to 400 student-athletes and is expected to be completed by 2026. Spanning 1,500 square meters, the facility will include quad- and squad-sharing rooms, a dining hall, recreational spaces, kitchen and laundry areas, and administrative offices—designed to foster a supportive, all-around living environment for aspiring champions.

BCDA President and CEO Engr. Joshua M. Bingcang emphasized the importance of investing in youth through sports. “New Clark City is not just a hub for infrastructure—it’s a home for future leaders. By building facilities like this, we’re nurturing the next generation of national pride.”

DBM Secretary Amenah Pangandaman echoed the sentiment: “Our student-athletes deserve nothing less than world-class environments where they can dream bigger and shine brighter.”

Senators Sherwin Gatchalian and Bong Go also reaffirmed their support for NAS. Senator Gatchalian urged students to “hone their talents and bring pride to the country,” while Senator Go, a co-author of the NAS law, hailed the academy’s growth as “a victory for Filipino youth.”

The dormitory complements ongoing construction of a gymnasium and gymnastics court, further solidifying New Clark City as a premier destination for sports excellence. Currently, NAS has 270 enrolled student-athletes across academic and athletic disciplines—soon to be joined by hundreds more, housed under a new roof built for champions.
