President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., together with First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos and their family, led the official launch of the Pamilya Pass 1+3 program on June 1, 2025, during a visit to the MRT-3 GMA-Kamuning Station.
The program, now available across MRT-3, LRT-1, and LRT-2, offers free rides to up to three immediate family members when accompanied by one paying passenger every Sunday. The initiative aims to promote affordable, safe, and sustainable transportation while encouraging families to spend time together.
Under the promo, one passenger pays for a single journey ticket (SJT) at the farthest fare rate, allowing three qualified companionsβsuch as parents, children, siblings, grandparents, or legal guardiansβto ride for free. Complimentary SJTs will be issued for entry via designated service gates. The offer is valid multiple times every Sunday, from start to end of daily operations.
President Marcos praised the initiative for reinforcing Filipino family values and supporting public transport use. During his remarks, he also announced the suspension of the planned EDSA rehabilitation to allow further study of faster and less disruptive repair options, potentially reducing the projectβs timeline from three years to just six months through modern technologies.
The Pamilya Pass 1+3 will run every Sunday starting June 1, 2025, until the last Sunday of June 2028.
