The Provincial Government of Pampanga honored its senior citizens through a special assembly that aimed to raise awareness of their rights, privileges, and benefits under the law.
Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda led the gathering of 2,096 senior citizens from the 1st, 3rd, and 4th Districts of Pampanga, emphasizing their invaluable role as pillars of families and the community.









Joining her were 1st District Board Members Christian Halili and Cherry Manalo, 4th District Board Member Kaye Naguit, and Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Fe Manarang, who discussed the Capitol’s programs and incentives dedicated to senior welfare.
National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) Regional Director Emmanuel Daez gave an overview of the agency’s initiatives and explained Republic Act No. 11982, or the Expanded Centenarian Act of 2024, which recognizes Filipinos aged 100 and above.
From DSWD Region III, Liezel Llarves shared updates on the Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens Program, providing financial aid to elderly individuals with limited income. PhilHealth Regional Office III representatives Mylene Lumber and Dr. Jocelyn Pangan also presented the Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP), while Mark Apaya of Landbank discussed accessible financial services for senior citizens.
Each participant received ₱1,000 cash assistance, food packs, and free medicines during the event.
Governor Pineda said the initiative reflects Pampanga’s ongoing commitment to uplifting the lives of the elderly, ensuring that they are recognized, respected, and cared for as vital members of society.
