Pope Leo XIV will meet with all priests assigned in Rome, including about 100 Filipino clergy, in a historic audience set for June 12, 2025. The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) News reported that the meeting will be held at 10 a.m. in the Vatican’s Paul VI Hall, which seats over 6,000.
This will be the Pope’s first official encounter with priests of the Diocese of Rome since his election to the papacy in May.
Among those expected to attend are Filipino priests based in Rome, many of whom are studying at the Pontificio Collegio Filippino (PCF).
“This is not exclusive to PCF clergy but open to all priests serving in Rome,” said Rev. Gregory Ramon Gaston, PCF rector, in an interview with Radio Veritas.
Around half of the estimated 100 Filipino priests in Rome reside at PCF, where they are engaged in formation and advanced studies in theology, canon law, philosophy, and related fields.
