Rainy Monday expected across most of PH

Most parts of the country will experience rainy weather on Monday due to the effects of three weather systems, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

In its 4 a.m. advisory, PAGASA said the shear line will bring scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over the Visayas, Bicol Region, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon.

Meanwhile, the easterlies will cause similar weather conditions over the Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, and Palawan.

PAGASA warned that moderate to heavy rains in these areas may trigger flash floods or landslides.

The northeast monsoon, locally known as amihan, will bring light rains over the Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Laguna, Batangas, and the rest of Mimaropa. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon may experience isolated light rains.

The rest of Mindanao will have isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, also due to the easterlies.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas are expected along the eastern seaboard of the country, while other areas will have light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal waters.

PAGASA said no low pressure area is currently being monitored for possible tropical cyclone formation.
