UnionBank HONORED FOR CHAMPIONING DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION

UnionBank of the Philippines was recognized as Runner-Up in the Diversity & Inclusion Category at the Investors in People (IiP) Philippines Awards 2025, held on September 19 in Makati City. This marks the bank’s first IiP citation, underscoring its steadfast commitment to fostering an inclusive, empowering workplace.

The recognition highlights UnionBank’s people-first culture, which celebrates diversity in age, gender, ability, and background. Through equitable policies and diverse leadership, the bank cultivates an environment where every employee can thrive and contribute meaningfully.

“We believe our differences are our strength,” said Michelle Rubio, **Chief Human Resource Officer of UnionBank. “By crafting policies and programs that reflect the real-life experiences of our people, we build not only a more inclusive workplace—but a more innovative one.”

Rubio also emphasized the impact of UMatter**, the bank’s flagship Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiative, which reinforces that inclusion drives innovation, engagement, and performance.

“UMatter isn’t about compliance—it’s about care,” she added. “This award affirms what we’ve always believed—that a culture of inclusion doesn’t just feel right; it performs.”

The Investors in People Awards honor organizations that exemplify excellence in people management and employee development. For UnionBank, this recognition serves as both validation and motivation—proving that when people are valued, performance naturally follows.
