With only days left in his term, Mayor Carmelo βPogiβ Lazatin Jr. continues to champion public health by inaugurating the 8th Puso Center Primary Care Facility in Barangay Capaya on June 17, 2025.
βEven as my time in office ends, my service to AngeleΓ±os doesnβt,β Mayor Lazatin said during the opening. βHealth care is a right, and Iβve made it my mission to bring it closer to our peopleβdown to the very last day.β
This milestone brings the city closer to fulfilling Lazatinβs promise of nine new primary care facilities, as laid out in his 2024 State of the City Address. Puso Centers are already serving residents in Pulungbulu, Tabun, Pulung Maragul, Cutud, Malabanias, Anunas, and Amsic.

When Mayor Lazatin took office in 2019, Angeles City had only six Rural Health Units. With the upcoming completion of the ninth Puso Center, the city will soon have a total of 15 primary care facilities, significantly expanding access to healthcare for all barangays.
The newly opened Capaya facility is designed to serve as a comprehensive health hub. It includes a dental clinic, consultation and laboratory rooms, a physicianβs office, a fully stocked pharmacy, and other support areas to ensure accessible and affordable care.
To sustain high-quality services, the city government has also onboarded more healthcare personnelβincluding doctors, dentists, pharmacists, and aidesβto serve the growing needs of the community.
Mayor Lazatinβs term may be ending, but the legacy of his βSerbisyong PUSOβ lives onβone health center at a time.
