With just weeks left in office, Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. continues to deliver on his promise to make healthcare more accessible, inaugurating the 6th Puso Center Primary Care Facility in Barangay Anunas on May 21, 2025.
βEven as my term comes to a close, my commitment to the health and well-being of every AngeleΓ±o remains unwavering,β Mayor Lazatin said. βBringing essential services closer to our communities is not just a promise β it is a responsibility I proudly carry until the very last day.β

The Anunas facility is the latest to open under the mayorβs program to build nine new primary care centers, as pledged in his 2024 State of the City Address. Previously completed Puso Centers include those in Barangays Pulungbulu, Tabun, Pulung Maragul, Cutud, and Malabanias. A seventh center in Barangay Amsic is scheduled to open May 22, with the final two in Capaya and Balibago set for inauguration soon.
Upon completion of all nine centers, Angeles City will have 15 primary care facilities, up from just six when Mayor Lazatin took office in 2019. Existing units then were located in Pandan, Sto. Domingo, Lourdes Sur East, Lourdes Northwest, Pulung Cacutud, and Balibago.
Each Puso Center is designed to deliver comprehensive services, including dental care, medical consultations, laboratory testing, a physicianβs office, and a pharmacy stocked with essential medicines. The city has also hired additional doctors, dentists, pharmacists, and dental aides to staff the new facilities.
Mayor Lazatin was joined at the inauguration by Councilors JC Parker-Aguas and Marino “Niknok” BaΓ±ola, along with department heads and office chiefs from the city government.
The Puso Centers form part of Mayor Lazatinβs broader legacy of expanding public health services and reaching underserved communities, a commitment he continues to fulfill until the end of his term.
