107 Bataan Farmers Graduate from SM Foundation’s Sustainable Agriculture Program

A total of 107 farmers from batches 398 to 401 completed the 14-week Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan (KSK) Sustainable Agriculture Program of SM Foundation Inc., marking their graduation on July 4, 2025 at SM City Bataan.

The event celebrated not only the farmers’ completion of the intensive training but also their transition toward becoming agro-entrepreneurs. Graduates presented business proposals, some of which are geared toward supplying fresh produce to SM’s Sunday Market, local public markets, and even large-scale retail like SM Supermarket.

As part of their hands-on learning, graduates toured SM Supermarket to understand product standards, packaging, and retail operations—key insights to help align their future harvests with market needs.

The KSK program continues to thrive through multi-agency collaboration. The DSWD supported participants through its Sustainable Livelihood Program; TESDA provided technical training and NC II certifications; and agencies like DA, DTI, DOLE, DOST, and LGUs from Orion and Pilar contributed expertise in livelihood, marketing, and agricultural innovation.

Through the KSK program, SM Foundation empowers farmers to go beyond traditional practices by embracing sustainable, market-driven agriculture—promoting food security, rural development, and inclusive growth in communities across the Philippines.
