Starting June 2, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) announced that 92 Mercury Drug branches nationwide will begin accepting Guarantee Letters (GLs) for clients under the AICS (Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations) and AKAP (Ayuda para sa Kapos ang Kita Program).
The GLs can be used to purchase maintenance medicines and are valid in select Mercury Drug outlets across Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Visayas, Mindanao, and other key regions.
“This partnership with Mercury Drug expands access to vital medicines for our beneficiaries,” said DSWD Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao. The program began in November 2024 and continues to grow, with other regions finalizing agreements to join soon.
Branches will display a sign that reads “DSWD Guarantee Letter is accepted here” to guide clients.
