₱349.6M worth of alleged fake footwear seized in two Pampanga raids

The Philippine National Police (PNP), through the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Pampanga Provincial Field Unit, confiscated nearly ₱349.6 million worth of alleged counterfeit footwear and production equipment during the implementation of two search warrants in separate warehouses in Apalit, Pampanga on February 26, 2026.

Operatives, in coordination with local police units, company representatives, and barangay officials, served the search warrants for violation of Republic Act No. 8293, or the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines.

In the morning operation, authorities raided a warehouse in Barangay Balucuc, seizing 181 boxes of alleged counterfeit footwear, 30 sacks of resin raw materials, four heavy machines, and assorted production equipment, with an estimated value of ₱216,305,000.

Later in the afternoon, a second warehouse within the same compound was searched, resulting in the confiscation of 1,481 boxes of alleged trademark-infringing footwear valued at ₱133,290,000.

The individual reportedly linked to the warehouses was not present during the operations. Both search warrant implementations were conducted in the presence of barangay officials.

PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., reiterated the police force’s firm stance against intellectual property violations, stressing that counterfeiting harms legitimate businesses, deceives consumers, and undermines fair competition. He said authorities will continue to pursue individuals who profit from illegal activities.

The PNP chief added that the operation aligns with the administration of Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and forms part of the PNP’s Focused Agenda under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, which strengthens efforts against economic sabotage and other unlawful activities.

He emphasized that protecting intellectual property safeguards jobs, investments, and public trust, affirming the PNP’s continuing commitment to deliver fast, honest, and responsive public service.
