ANGELES CITY PREPARES FOR FULL-SCALE EARTHQUAKE READINESS DRILL

The Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ACDRRMO) convened key stakeholders on March 3, 2026 for a comprehensive planning meeting in preparation for the First Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED).

Held at the conference room of Angeles City National Trade School, the meeting laid out operational strategies for the full-scale simulation exercise, which will designate the school as the primary drill site in the city.

Discussions centered on task assignments, inter-agency coordination, safety and security protocols, and a detailed run-through within the school premises to ensure seamless execution of the drill. The exercise aims to test emergency response systems and strengthen readiness among participating agencies and the school community.

Representatives from the Bureau of Fire Protection, Angeles City Police Office, Angeles City Traffic Development Office, City Information Office Angeles City, City Engineer’s Office Angeles City, barangay officials of Cutcut, TODA leaders, and the Department of Education Angeles City Division participated in the coordination meeting.

City officials emphasized that the full-scale drill forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance disaster preparedness and institutional coordination in the event of a major earthquake. Through sustained collaboration among government agencies and community partners, Angeles City continues to reinforce a culture of safety, vigilance, and resilience.

The Angeles City Government urged residents to actively participate in earthquake drills and maintain preparedness measures at home, in schools, and in workplaces to help safeguard lives and property.
