The local government of Apalit expressed full support for the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) following a presentation by Department of Transportation (DOTr) Assistant Secretary for Right of Way and Site Acquisition IC Calaguas on Wednesday, September 11.
Mayor Jun Tetangco said the NSCR will significantly benefit Apalit by further boosting the town’s economy and enhancing mobility for his constituents.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. earlier directed the DOTr, under Secretary Giovanni Lopez, to fast-track the construction of the railway to provide efficient transport service to commuters.
Also present during the meeting were Vice Mayor Peter Nucum, Municipal Administrator Glenn Danting, Association of Barangay Councils President Jojo Ibe, Municipal Engineer Gerald Vinuya, and DOTr’s Anneleen Sugui.
