Aid from Panday, Nanay and Gov. Delta

A total of 3,334 Nanay Community Workers (NCW) from Districts 1 and 2, and Apalit received cash and food assistance from the Provincial Government of Pampanga, headed by Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, Vice Governor Lilia ‘Nanay’ Pineda and Senator Ramon ‘Bong’ Revilla, Jr. on Thursday, May 16, at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center.

Through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), the Pampanga Provincial Government gave each NCW received ₱2,000 cash and a food pack. Meanwhile, Senator Revilla, Jr., also tagged as the ‘Pambansang Panday,” through the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), funded the provision of the additional ₱2,000 each under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) Program.

Sen. Revilla, who could not attend the event due to a medical injury, was represented by his wife, Cavite Rep. Lani Mercado-Revilla. He also sent a message to the NCW through a video call.

Gov. Delta, for his part, thanked Sen. Revilla and his wife for their continuous support to the province.

The governor also acknowledged the contributions of the NCW, particularly in their efforts in helping communities seek medical assistance from the provincial government.

Delta said.

Also present during the event were former president, now Pampanga 2nd District Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, Mikey Arroyo, Board Members Jun Canlas, Sajid Khan Eusoof, and Claire Lim.

The activity coincided with the “Briefing on the Roles of Women and Nanay Community Workers in Environmental Protection,” spearheaded by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) headed by Angelina Blanco.
