Looking for a good ol’ American or European breakfast or, for a little twist, a fusion of both, is now easy with the opening today of the Sandra & Sun Brunch & Bakery.
Owned by Mac Nepomuceno, it is conveniently located at the entrance of Clarkville Compound, or Oasis Compound, at a refurbished American-style house where Mac actually grew up.
Having grown near the former Clark Air Force Base and getting training in Europe, the US and Japan, Mac acquired knowledge about different international cuisines that he applied in Sandra & Sun.
“What makes us different are the big servings of our European-American-inspired offerings using the best ingredients but at competitive prices,” Mac said in an interview.
He said that although he is not a coffee connoisseur, people who’ve been to Sandra & Sun say the coffee they serve there is good.
And their bread and pastries are baked fresh daily.
Mac trained in Europe as a student and worked in restaurants in New York and Japan where he acquired the skills and crafted the recipes for his planned business. He also studied at the Enderun Colleges, one of the best Culinary Arts , Hotel and Restaurant Management , Business Administration School located in Taguig City.
The Sandra & Sun Brunch & Bakery is 15 years in the making, an idea Mac came up with which his mother, Sandra Nepomuceno, supported.
“I am now living the dream: to own a business I could be proud of,” Mac said.
He said his family is supportive of the business, especially his mom, which makes the opening on Mother’s Day more meaningful.
“I’m a normal mom. I wanted him to experience and learn. I urged him to go abroad to acquired experience. So here we have it. He decided on everything here, from the concept to the kitchen,” Sandra said proudly.
Although the Sandra & Sun Brunch & Bakery just opened, Mac is already eyeing his next project: to restore and revive the Sandra Mall in Angeles City.
Sandra & Sun Brunch & Bakery is open 8 am to 4 pm daily, except Mondays.
