Angeles City launches Angeleño Alerto! POGI Emergency App

Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin, Jr. led the launch today, 28 January, of the ‘Angeleño Alerto!’ 24/7 Mobile App – Personal On-call Guard Interface (POGI), the first of its kind in Pampanga and the region.

Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. stated that the app’s goal is to strengthen the city’s emergency response system, allowing residents to report incidents and share their precise location directly with emergency responders from the Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ACDRRMO), led by Rodolfo Simeon.

The event was highlighted by a simulated response which took the team about 2 minutes to arrive onsite and process the patient, and about another 9 minutes to get to the Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center (RLMMC).

Recognizing that “every second counts in saving lives,” Mayor Lazatin has always been focused on reducing emergency response time.

He emphasized, “The safety of every Angeleño is our priority. This app will help us cut down response times, ensuring faster assistance during critical situations.”

Mayor’s Chief Adviser and Tactician IC Calaguas, the, who oversaw the app’s planning and development alongside Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel and ICT Division Chief Mike Lising, explained that “This technology empowers Angeleños to take control of their own safety. No matter where you are, help is just a tap away,” adding that the “app’s location-sharing feature allows responders to pinpoint incidents with greater accuracy, even when users cannot provide direct communication.”

The app may be downloaded for FREE and is simple to install. It includes user and responder registration, along with a system to dispatch responders from the ACDRRMO, Bureau of Fire Protection – Angeles City, and the Angeles City Traffic and Management Enforcement Unit.

A step-by-step guide for registering and using the app will be shared through the Angeles City Information Office’s official Facebook page.
