The Angeles City Barangay Outreach team fumigated public schools in Angeles City on July 4 and 5. This aims to protect students and teachers from dengue in time for the opening of classes.
The fumigation was conducted upon the instruction of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr., and is part of the Brigada Eskwela program.
“Kailangang matiyak na ligtas ang mga mag-aaral at guro sa dengue, bago mag-umpisa ang klase,” Mayor Lazatin said.
Aside from the fumigation, the city government is also implementing the 4S strategy in fighting dengue: search and destroy, self protection measures, seek early consultation, say yes to fogging in case of outbreak.
Among the schools fumigated during the 2-day period are Salapungan Elementary School, Belen Homesite Elementary School, Mining Elementary School, Pineda Gutierrez Elementary School, Abelardo G. Tinio Elementary School, Francisco G. Nepomuceno Memorial High School and Jose P. Dizon Elementary School.
