Angeles City steps up traffic enforcement in Balibago

The Angeles City Government intensified its traffic enforcement efforts in Barangay Balibago as part of its continuing campaign to ensure safe and orderly transportation for Angeleños.

The Public Transportation Regulatory Office (PTRO), in coordination with the Angeles City Traffic Development Office (ACTDO) and the Philippine National Police (PNP), conducted a random spot check operation along 1st Street to curb illegal transport activities and address traffic violations.

The operation focused on the identification of colorum tricycles, unauthorized transport application riders, and motorists committing various traffic offenses. Several violators were apprehended and issued corresponding citations in accordance with existing traffic and transport regulations.

City authorities emphasized that sustained enforcement operations are crucial in promoting road safety, discipline, and fair transport practices, while safeguarding the welfare of commuters and law-abiding drivers.

PTRO also warned that in cases of harassment or accidents involving unauthorized passenger rides, the office is unable to act due to the absence of official records of riders and trips—posing serious risks to both passengers and the public.

The city government continues to urge motorists and transport operators to comply with traffic laws and secure the necessary permits as part of its commitment to maintaining safe and organized roads across Angeles City.

PTRO further advised the public to avoid using unauthorized modes of transportation for passenger services until all legal requirements are fulfilled and operations are fully authorized.
