Angeles City strengthens youth empowerment through LEaP

Efforts to empower young people and prepare them for meaningful opportunities continue as selected youth-serving organizations in the city participated in the Capacity Building for Youth-Serving Organizations under the Learning to Earning Pathways (LEaP!) Programme on March 5, 2026, held at Dalian Peak Hotel.

The activity was organized by the Angeles City Government under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo ‘Jon’ Lazatin II, through the Angeles City Youth Development Office, bringing together organizations that will implement community-based initiatives aimed at empowering young people across the city.

The LEaP Programme is a youth-centered initiative designed to help young individuals build sustainable and fulfilling futures. Through skills development, support services, and leadership opportunities, the program aims to create inclusive pathways that guide youth from education and training toward higher learning, employment, entrepreneurship, and active civic engagement.

During the capacity-building session, participating youth organizations enhanced their leadership, project management, and community engagement skills to ensure the effective implementation of their approved project proposals. These organizations are set to receive cash grants under the LEaP Programme to support initiatives that will directly benefit their respective communities.

The event also featured the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement between the LEaP Programme and the Department of Education – Schools Division of Angeles City, strengthening collaboration in advancing youth development and leadership.

Through initiatives such as the LEaP Programme, the Angeles City Government continues to support and empower Kabataang Angeleños, recognizing their vital role as partners in building a more progressive, inclusive, and resilient community.
