The Angeles City Government has launched a major cleanup campaign targeting unsightly “spaghetti wires” and dangling cables across the city’s main roads, a move aimed at enhancing urban safety and visual appeal.
Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II recently convened the first official meeting with representatives from telecommunications companies at the mayor’s conference room to align efforts on the systematic removal of abandoned or disconnected overhead cables.

“In our pursuit to make Angeles City more beautiful and safe for Angeleños and visitors, we recognize the urgent need to address the visual pollution caused by these tangled wires,” Lazatin said. “Our goal is to organize a comprehensive plan to clean the aerial view and improve the overall ambiance of our city.”
Vice Mayor Amos Rivera and city councilors—Alex Indiongco, Niknok Bañola, Edu Pamintuan, Pogs Suller, Marang Morales, Ron Pineda, Jeselle Dayrit, Michelle Bonifacio, Raco Del Rosario, and JC Aguas—attended the meeting, along with Liga ng mga Barangay President Dan Nacu and Sangguniang Kabataan Federation President Richard Gaza.
Telecom companies expressed full support for the initiative, citing ongoing internal efforts to improve cable management and expand underground installations.
The city government will implement a phased strategy starting with the most cluttered main thoroughfares, ensuring minimal disruption to residents and businesses. A detailed action plan will be drafted in the coming weeks, with stakeholder consultations to ensure transparency and cooperation.
Through this initiative, Angeles City aims to deliver a cleaner, safer, and more “Instagrammable” urban environment that aligns with its vision as a premier destination in Central Luzon.
