Love, support, arts and music brought together some 200 people at DENG OBRA NA, the benefit musical and arts event staged by Gamat Kapampangan Artist Consumers Cooperative, Paraluman Care Foundation and Kalinangan Telabastasgan for the benefit of Conderlos “Kong Deng” Lingat.
Kong Deng, a talented Kapampangan visual artist and a volunteer of Paraluman Cares Foundation, has recently been discovered to have cardiovascular and renal issues, and has to undergo a series of tests and treatments. He also needs medication.
Another highlight of the event is the solo exhibit of Kong Deng at the Bale Gamat Art Gallery. This was supplemented by the K-Cart of Ronnie ‘Mang Ron’ Tayag.
The rains may have poured earlier, but this didn’t dampen the performances of bands, spoken word artists, rappers and others who shared their talent for FREE. They include Paraluman Band, Mabalacat Folk Trio, R’Ganikz, Bronz Selassie, I See Wild Vibes, Timaua, Maria Ga, Paper Soul, Olecram, Oricheeba, Dos Islas and more.
The amount pooled from the ticket sales and sponsors Rotary Club of Angeles North Inc., CDC Director Nicolette Henson, Angeles City General Services Office were turned over by Gamat Kapampangan Artist Consumers Cooperative President Dr. Vittorio Pantig and Chairman Cesario ‘Jojo’ La Madrid, Jr. to a family member of Kong Deng.
