Pampanga Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, and 4th District Congresswoman Anna York Bondoc joined forces with 1,943 Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) and Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) from Pampanga’s 1st District and the towns of Bacolor, Apalit, Macabebe, Masantol, San Simon, Minalin, Sto. Tomas, and the City of San Fernando for a vibrant Year-End Assessment event.
Held at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center on Saturday, December 14, the program highlighted the importance of fitness, featuring energetic Zumba sessions that had everyone moving to lively music.
Also in attendance were key officials including Board Members Lucky Labung and Cherry Manalo, Special Assistant to the Governor Angelina Blanco, Acting PSWDO Fe Manarang, and staff from the PDRRMO, PSWDO, and PTO
The event wasn’t just about fun—it was also a reminder of the significance of regular exercise, such as dancing, in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Experts emphasized that physical activity can help prevent common health issues like high blood pressure and diabetes, which often lead to more serious illnesses.
Governor Delta Pineda encouraged the volunteers to prioritize their well-being, not only for their families but also for the barangay residents and patients who rely on their dedicated service.
As a token of appreciation for their hard work and commitment, each BHW and BNS received special year-end gifts from the provincial government. The packages included chicken, hotdogs, undergarments, towels, and a cash gift of PHP 2,000.
Through activities like these, the provincial government continues to empower its barangay volunteers, recognizing their essential role in fostering healthier and more resilient communities.
