Some 2,820 Bantay Bayan volunteers from Pampanga’s third district received aid from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Provincial Government of Pampanga on Saturday, October 26. Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda and Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda personally addressed the volunteers, expressing gratitude for their dedication to community service.
Vice Governor Pineda also urged the Bantay Bayan members to work closely with authorities to help monitor and prevent the entry of illegal POGO operations and drug activities in the province.
PNP Regional Director PBGEN Redrico Maranan underscored the critical role of Bantay Bayan in maintaining peace and safety across Pampanga’s communities. According to the Department of the Interior and Local Government, Pampanga has over 12,000 active Bantay Bayan volunteers.
Through DSWD’s “Ayuda para sa Kapos ang Kita Program” (AKAP), each volunteer received P3,000 in financial assistance, along with food packs, maintenance medicines, and hygiene items provided by the Provincial Government.
