The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) strengthened its commitment to sustainable development through its participation in the Building Green Conference 2025, hosted by the Philippine Green Building Council (PHILGBC) at Clark Marriott, Pampanga, from September 24 to 26.

The three-day event gathered leaders from both government and private sectors to share insights and drive bold climate action, with a focus on sustainable and inclusive urban development.
In her keynote address, BCDA Vice President for Public Affairs Leilani B. Macasaet underscored the importance of collective leadership in advancing green development. “Clark is a beacon of sustainability, setting the standard for future-ready developments in the country. We firmly believe that this is a prime example of what PHILGBC strives for,” she said.
PHILGBC Chairperson Raymond Rufino highlighted the unique opportunity for Central Luzon to embed sustainability amid rapid urbanization. “The region still allows for master-planned districts and communities that can prioritize green building, low-carbon design, and nature-based solutions,” he noted.
During the conference, Engr. Jules O. Aficial presented BCDA’s ongoing initiatives to integrate sustainability into infrastructure projects, stressing that the agency pursues not only profitability but also environmental responsibility.
As part of the program, BCDA hosted a study tour for 51 delegates across its major developments. Participants visited the New Clark City Aquatics Center and Athletics Stadium, both designed with world-class and eco-friendly features, before concluding at Clark International Airport, the only EDGE-certified airport in the Philippines.
Through its partnership with PHILGBC, BCDA reaffirmed its role in promoting green, resilient, and future-ready infrastructure that will benefit generations to come.
