Big things are on the horizon for Poro Point as the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), Poro Point Management Corporation (PPMC), and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) signed a memorandum of agreement to build a new multi-purpose facility at the Poro Point Freeport Zone.
The upcoming 2,538-square-meter Poro Point Baywalk will soon be transformed into a vibrant seaside recreation hub — complete with a 400-seater grandstand, skate course, basketball, volleyball, and pickleball courts, and an events space powered by solar lighting.

Designed to bring together sports, culture, and community life by the bay, the project aims to boost tourism, create local jobs, and spark small business growth, all while enhancing La Union’s coastal charm and energy.
Representing BCDA at the signing was EVP and COO Atty. Gisela Z. Kalalo. Also present were La Union Governor Mario Eduardo Ortega, PPMC OIC Chairman of the Board Nicky A. Oller, PPMC OIC President and CEO Servillano C. Flores, Jr., BCDA Vice President for Land and Assets Development Richard Cepe, and DPWH La Union First District Engineering Office OIC District Engineer Sherylann Gonzales.
