BDO fuels Green Logistics with Mober’s 60 new EV trucks

BDO Unibank Inc. (BDO) is playing a pivotal role in driving the future of sustainable mobility by financing the acquisition of 60 electric vehicle (EV) trucks for Mober, a leader in green logistics. This initiative is part of BDO’s commitment to advancing eco-friendly practices in the logistics sector and reducing the environmental impact of transportation.

At the recent launch of Mober Central Charge, BDO’s Institutional Banking Group (IBG) was present to show full support for the fleet expansion and the establishment of the country’s largest commercial EV charging facility. The event also featured prominent figures from BDO, including Ann Claryn Yap, Manager of Commercial Banking Metro Manila North A2; Jeffrey Ang, First Vice President and Unit Head of Commercial Banking Metro Manila North A2; Jeanette Javellana, Executive Vice President and Head of Commercial Banking for Metro Manila & Luzon; Dennis Ng, CEO of Mober; and Charles M. Rodriguez, Executive Vice President and Head of Institutional Banking Group at BDO.

Dennis Ng, CEO of Mober, expressed gratitude, stating, “BDO supports our fleet expansion, allowing us to take a significant step toward building a more sustainable logistics industry.” Charles M. Rodriguez added, “We are dedicated to the advancement of sustainable business practices, helping enterprises transition toward a greener future. By supporting initiatives like electric mobility and green logistics, we contribute to building a cleaner, more resilient economy.”

BDO’s financing not only supports Mober’s fleet growth but also helps reduce the company’s carbon footprint, further aligning with its goal to foster environmental sustainability. The new electric trucks are part of Mober’s effort to lead the logistics industry toward a greener future.

Mober also introduced its state-of-the-art EV charging hub, Central Charge, in Pasay City. As the largest commercial EV charging facility in the country, it boasts a 3,000 square meter space with a 56-port capacity and can charge up to 200 EV trucks daily. This ensures continuous operations, supporting major clients like Ikea, SM Appliances, Nestle Philippines, and Maersk. The hub is strategically located near Metro Manila’s commercial zones to enhance delivery efficiency.

BDO’s backing of Mober’s green logistics initiative reinforces its commitment to supporting sustainable development and clean energy. The Bank continues to promote financing programs aimed at renewable energy and eco-friendly projects, encouraging other institutions to adopt similar practices.
