BDO Unibank (BDO) has teamed up with the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) to strengthen support for permanent migrant Filipinos and their families through financial literacy initiatives and access to vital services.
The partnership was formally sealed with CFO Undersecretary Atty. Arlene S. Borja and BDO Senior Vice President and Head of Remittance Genie T. Gloria, joined by former Labor Secretary Marianito “Nitoy” Roque and officers from both institutions.
CFO, an agency under the Office of the President, is tasked with protecting the rights and welfare of overseas Filipinos while maintaining their economic, social, and cultural ties to the Philippines.
Former DOLE Secretary Roque highlighted the deeper meaning of remittance in sustaining family bonds: “Remittance is a form of communication. Families stay connected because of it—and BDO helps bring them closer together.”
For her part, Gloria reaffirmed BDO’s commitment: “At BDO, we see remittance not just as a transaction, but as a lifeline that strengthens family ties. Through this partnership with CFO, we want to empower overseas Filipinos with the knowledge and tools to secure a better future for their loved ones.”
Through this collaboration, BDO and CFO aim to create greater impact in the lives of overseas Filipinos by bridging financial services, education, and family support across borders.
