The Bureau of Customs – Ninoy Aquino International Airport (BOC–NAIA), in coordination with the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (IADITG), intercepted an abandoned inbound parcel concealed inside a hotdog roller machine, containing illegal drugs valued at nearly ₱27 million.

The operation, conducted at a warehouse in Pasay City, uncovered approximately 3,962 grams of white crystalline substance suspected to be Methamphetamine Hydrochloride (shabu), with an estimated value of ₱26,941,600. Physical inspection revealed that the machine contained four heat-sealed transparent plastic bags wrapped in aluminum foil, concealing the illicit substance.

Following an initial examination in January, the seized drugs were formally turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for safekeeping and further investigation for violations of Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002)** and the **Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.

The seizure highlights the intensified interdiction efforts of the BOC under Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno, in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to curb the entry of illicit goods into the Philippines.

Under the leadership of District Collector Atty. Yasmin Obillos-Mapa, BOC–NAIA continues to strengthen monitoring and enforcement operations in coordination with partner agencies to ensure effective interception of illegal shipments at the country’s main gateway.
