The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has cautioned the public and stakeholders against fraudulent individuals posing as Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno and other BOC officials to solicit money in exchange for supposed “special treatment” or expedited shipment processing.
The agency said it has received reports of a scheme dubbed “Enrollment,” falsely linked to the BOC. The scam allegedly promises preferential treatment to importers and brokers willing to pay grease money.
Commissioner Nepomuceno strongly condemned the illicit activity and categorically denied any involvement, stressing that the BOC does not and will never engage in such schemes.
The BOC urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious solicitations through its official hotlines and channels.
