Best Western Plus Metro Clark has made history as the first hotel in Asia to earn the prestigious Ookla® Speedtest Certified™ status, a recognition that affirms its commitment to delivering world-class, reliable, and fast Wi-Fi—powered by Converge’s cutting-edge fiber technology.
This landmark certification, awarded by global network intelligence leader Ookla®, confirms that the hotel’s wireless network meets rigorous international standards for performance, stability, and coverage. With a rating of 72.5—surpassing the required benchmark—the hotel assures guests of seamless connectivity for work, travel, and entertainment across the entire property.

According to Ookla Director for Global Brand and Licensing Jim Nugent, the hotel exceeded required standards in areas such as Wi-Fi coverage, signal strength, upload and download speeds, and latency. “Speedtest Certified represents the best in Wi-Fi excellence and connectivity,” Nugent emphasized.
The achievement underscores the successful partnership between Best Western Plus Metro Clark and Converge Global Business. Converge equipped the hotel with enterprise-grade fiber connectivity and its advanced hospitality solution, Content Plus, ensuring high-speed internet supported by a 3000 Mbps fiber backhaul—more than enough to handle peak usage while maintaining consistent quality.

Converge’s industry leadership further reinforces this achievement, having dominated the Ookla® Speedtest Awards for the second half of 2024 with wins in four major categories, including Fastest and Best Fixed Network.
Savers Group Holdings President & COO Jansen Ivan Uy expressed immense pride in the milestone. “Being the first hotel in Asia to achieve this certification is a tremendous honor,” Uy said. “Our partnership with Converge allows us to deliver a truly world-class digital experience. Modern travelers expect fast, reliable, and secure connectivity—and this elevates the hotel’s appeal while boosting local tourism.”
Uy added that the group intends to replicate this high standard across future hospitality projects such as Best Western Plus Subic and in collaborations with business clients. “We want to ensure that Converge’s high-speed, Ookla-certified connectivity becomes a standard across all properties we develop.”
Converge Chief Executive Advisor Eugene Yeo shared that the certification validates the strength of the company’s pure fiber infrastructure and its importance to the hospitality sector. DICT Asec. Luis Miguel Planas also highlighted the credibility Ookla brings, noting that many establishments offer Wi-Fi, but not all meet consistent quality standards. “Once they certify the connectivity of a hotel, that spells credibility,” he said.
The certification marks more than a technological upgrade—it sets a new benchmark for Filipino hospitality. By integrating world-class digital infrastructure with its upscale amenities, Best Western Plus Metro Clark reinforces its leadership in Central Luzon’s tourism landscape, delivering an elevated guest experience where comfort meets reliable, high-performance connectivity.
