Around 12,000 residents impacted by severe flooding from Typhoon Kristine have received much-needed relief goods from Pampanga.
Pampanga Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, together with Pampanga Mayors League President and Apalit Mayor Jun Tetangco, Special Assistant to the Governor and PDRRM Chief Angelina Blanco, and Acting PSWDO Fe Manarang, led the distribution of 6,000 food packs in the municipality of Milaor on October 9.
Governor Pineda encouraged Bicolanos to stay resilient, drawing from Kapampangans’ recovery from the Mount Pinatubo eruption. He assured the people of Bicol that Pampanga stands with them on their path to recovery.
“Hindi po namin akalain na may bubuhos pang biyaya sa amin. Maraming salamat po sa tulong na binigay ninyo sa amin mula pa sa Pampanga,” said Milaor resident Jun Caseres.
An additional 6,000 food packs were distributed to San Fernando, with Governor Pineda noting this aid as a gesture of gratitude to Bicolanos who assisted Pampanga during an oil spill threat from Bataan earlier this year.
Governor Pineda shared, “Nangailangan po kami ng coconut husks para gawing spill booms… Ang mayor niyo po ang isa sa mga tumulong samin at nagpadala po ng coconut husk.”
The Pampanga delegation included 132 personnel from the provincial government, the Highway Patrol Group, and the Pampanga Police Office, along with 32 vehicles.
With this aid, Pampanga hopes to bring renewed resilience to the Bicolanos, underscoring the unwavering support Kapampangans extend to fellow Filipinos in times of need.
