Offices from the Angeles City Government and some business establishments turnover their biodegradable waste at the Central Composting Facility to support the city government’s Black Soldier Fly project.
Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr. promotes awareness on the potential of black soldier fly as an emerging technology in bio-waste management.
Black soldier fly decomposes various types of organic waste and converts them into high-value biomasses such as oils and proteins.
Personnel from the City Agriculture Office, headed by Ericson Dagdag, City Environment and Natural Resource Office and Environmental Management System continue to decompose biodegradable waste and turn it into fertilizers using black soldier fly. This is part of Lazatin’s aim to encourage Angeleños to practice proper waste segregation and disposal.
