Cebu Pacific (CEB) continues to soar in 2025, carrying 2.4 million passengers in May alone — a 21.7% increase compared to the same month last year. The airline’s seat load factor (SLF) also inched up to 86.4% from 86.2% in May 2024, while seat capacity expanded by 21.3%.

Domestic travel remained the key driver of growth, with 1.83 million local passengers flown in May — up 19.9% year-on-year on the back of 19.7% higher seat offerings. Cebu Pacific maintained a solid 91.0% domestic seat load factor.

International operations also posted strong gains. Cebu Pacific flew 602,000 international passengers in May, a 27.5% increase from last year, supported by a 25.7% increase in seats. International SLF rose 1 percentage point to 75.0%.

For the first five months of 2025, Cebu Pacific has carried 11.7 million passengers — a 23.7% jump from 9.4 million in the same period of 2024. Domestic passenger volume grew 23.2% to 8.7 million, while international passengers increased 24.9% to 3 million. Year-to-date seat load factor averaged 85%.

“Passenger traffic continues to show strong year-on-year growth through the first five months of 2025,” said CEB Chief Executive Officer Mike Szucs. “Seat load factor is tracking ahead of last year, reflecting robust air travel demand as additional capacity continues to be absorbed.”

Szucs emphasized Cebu Pacific’s ongoing efforts to balance capacity expansion with operational challenges, including global engine and supply chain issues affecting the airline industry.
