Geared towards transforming Clark as ont of the country’s leading economic centers, Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) bared its flagship projects.
CIAC Vice President for Operations and Business Group Brando Aguilera underscored the P8.5-billion food hub as one of the priority projects.
“We have underway the Clark National Food Hub designed to become the country’s premium wholesale market and distribution hub for high value and top quality food products,” he said.
This project aims to enhance food security and standards, increase the productivity of the agricultural sector, and to empower local farmers with economic opportunities.
It features a wholesale food market, premium production wholesale, warehouse and cold storage, and support zone.
Also, Aguilera highlighted the establishment of the Clark Entertainment and Events Center designed to become a versatile district for entertainment, recreation and lifestyle.
“With an international convention center, airport mall, indoor sports arena and multimodal terminal, this P21 billion project can host international conventions, sports tournaments and world-class concerts,” he said.
Finally, CIAC will implement modern urban planning principles dubbed as the Urban Renewal and Heritage Conservation Program to address water supply challenges, create sustainable parks and open spaces, and preserve Clark’s historical and cultural heritage.
Aguilera stressed that this project fosters sustainability, optimizes land utilization, and enhances the overall quality life for the community.
Other infrastructure developments include Clark International Airport (CRK) direct access link, expansion of national food hub gateway road, Gil Puyat-Entertainment and Event Center connector road, and construction of access road from C.M Recto Avenue to CRK.
CIAC is responsible for developing, creating, managing and maintaining the Clark Civil Aviation Complex within the Clark Freeport Zone. (PIA Region 3-Tarlac)
